New Venture
Everyone's first business is a new venture. This is what I'm building for the people starting one: a game where the business you level up is real.
Your business is a base on a map.
You go from Town Hall 1, where you pick an idea, to Town Hall 10: your first $10,000 and a business that runs a normal week. It feels like levelling up a base in a game. The difference is that everything you log is real.
Real conversations, real customers, real money. Not a simulator, and not a course.
Five minutes a day, then go and do it.
Open your base
Every day, in under five minutes.
Pick a quest
A real thing to do this week, like talking to three people who might buy it.
Go and do it
In real life. That's the whole point.
Log it with proof
A note, a photo or a link.
Level up
Earn points, upgrade a building, and watch the base grow.
Six buildings. Each one is a real part of a business.
Your Town Hall level caps every other building, so you can't max out your marketing before your business is real.
Town Hall
The idea, the offer, and making it official.
Market
Finding customers, talking to them, and the first sale.
Workshop
Making the product, or delivering the service.
Tower
Content, marketing, and being seen.
Treasury
Pricing, a bank account, invoicing, GST and the books.
Barracks
Tools, AI and systems, and later on, hiring.
Town Hall 1 to 10.
Each level is a stage of a real first business- 1
Pick a patch
Write three ideas, pick one, and describe it in one sentence to three real people.
- 2
Ask around
Have ten real conversations with people who might buy it, and write down what they said.
- 3
Make it real
An ABN, a business name decision, and a separate bank account.
- 4
Put a price on it
A price, a simple offer, and one place people can find it.
- 5
First sale
Someone paid you, and you sent them a proper invoice.
- 6
Ten customers
Ten paying customers, or $1,000 in total.
- 7
Show up
Four weeks of showing up in public, at the cadence you chose.
- 8
Get your time back
Books, payments, and one AI assistant doing real work for you.
- 9
Do it again
A sales process you can repeat, written down, and $5,000 in total.
- 10
Open for business
$10,000 in total, and a business that runs a normal week without a crisis.
Effort is ranked. Money never is.
Comparing revenue is what makes beginners quit. Comparing effort is what keeps them going.
Public, and they drive the wars
Earned from quests, from 10 for a small one to 100 for a Town Hall finale. A seven-day streak adds 10 percent to the week.
Real, and private by default
Your actual revenue. Show milestone badges at $100, $1k, $5k and $10k if you like, without ever showing the number.
Nobody starts a business alone in here.
A clan is up to 30 people, with its own chat, a board of questions and answers that stay, and clan calls.
Town clans
People in the same town or region, so it works as a local network too.
Niche clans
People in the same kind of business: trades, coaching, ecommerce, creative.
Friends clans
Private and invite only, for the people you're starting with.
Once a week, clans that opt in are matched against a clan their size. Everyone's points count, capped, so a clan where everybody did a bit beats a clan with one machine. Revenue never counts.Weekly wars, Monday to Sunday, Brisbane time
Still being built.
There's nothing to join yet. This page shows where it's heading, and it will change as the build does.
New Venture is not financial, legal or tax advice. Lessons and quests point you to the official source, like the ATO, ASIC and business.gov.au. It's for people 18 and over.
